My practice
Working with couples and individuals, especially those who are wanting better relationships, and/or to recover from relational trauma.
How I work with my clients
My counselling is client focused (what my clients want, and who they are, is at the centre of my work with them), integrated (I put together a mix of effective therapies that best suit my clients), systemic (understanding people are not islands, those you live with, grew up with, etc really do matter, they affect you, and you them), attachment based (the idea that our need to feel safe and secure with those closest to us really, really matters, without it we are in distress, which explains a lot!) and trauma informed (I engages with my clients in a way that has been proven to increase their sense of safety and empowerment, this is especially important if you have experienced trauma).
Couples Counselling
I have done extensive studies, focusing on how relationships work and how they can be improved and restored. My studies have included Emotionally Focused Therapy training.
I specialise in working with couples who are struggling with issues, such as - poor communication, unfaithfulness, conflict, relationship dissatisfaction, addiction etc.
Supervision
As an accredited CCAA and PACFA supervisor, I enjoy engaging with other practitioners to support and enhance their therapeutic practice.
I see supervision as a space where a professional, contracted and collaborative alliance is formed, in order to grow the supervisee's professional wisdom. This alliance embodies authenticity, kindness, relational safety and honours humanity and diversity.
"Supervision involves observation, evaluation, feedback, the facilitation of supervisee self-assessment, and the acquisition of knowledge and skills by instruction, modelling, and mutual problem-solving." (Carol, Falender, Shafranske, 2010)
I provide supervision face-to-face in Geelong, and online. Supervision sessions go for 60 minutes and cost $140.
