Life can throw some curve balls and all of us need counselling at some stages of our lives to support us on our journey towards healing and wholeness.
I can accompany you on your journey through my training in many different modalities and through the experience that I have had over my lifetime.
Areas of Interest:
Depression, anxiety, anger, grief, trauma symptoms, addiction, faith and relational crises, self-esteem and identity issues.
My Approach:
I work from an integrative approach and believe that each person holds the key to unlocking the solutions to their issues. As each person is uniquely different, I try to tailor my approach to the needs of the individual. By trying to listen deeply for understanding, have no judgement, be respectful, and then offer whatever resources I deem useful to you, I would hope to support you on your journey. I would also be mindful of your season in life and some of the unique challenges that it might present.
It is in relationship that we can experience love but also pain and grief. It is my belief that relationships can provide the crucible for our own self-learning and growth. Sometimes, we need help to navigate them and ride the waves that can potentially challenge us but eventually enrich our connections. At times, trauma is experienced as a result of our relationships, and I have tools that can help you to regulate and take you to the other side of your pain. At other times, witness and support is needed when relationships end due to death or breakdown, and I can provide that.
About Me:
I bring a rich lifetime of experiences to my work as a counsellor. I am mother of 4 adult children and grandmother of 6. I have worked as an educator for children in primary schools and early childhood settings and adults with English as a second language. I have also worked with a volunteer organisation in my community, supporting families in crisis.
