About Kylie Walls
Hi, I’m Kylie, a Registered Psychologist and the founder of Curated Mind Psychology. I also work with Refuge Psychology and Sovereignty Psychology, offering online psychological support across Australia.
My work is shaped by both professional insight and a longstanding commitment to supporting those navigating complex or painful experiences connected to faith, identity, and mental health. I provide tailored support for people in or leaving harmful faith environments, church leaders, ministry workers, and those quietly wrestling with questions of faith or spiritual identity. I also work with individuals facing challenges related to domestic and family violence, trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, and mental health concerns that intersect with belief systems—including experiences such as spiritual distress or scrupulosity.
Alongside clinical practice, I’ve published research in the areas of coercive control and emotional regulation and contributed to advisory roles focused on domestic and family violence in faith-based settings. My work is grounded in a deep understanding of how harmful relational, cultural, or belief-based experiences can affect psychological wellbeing, relationships, and one’s sense of self.
This is not an anti-faith space—it’s a respectful one. I support clients in navigating unsafe spiritual environments, misuse of power, and broken trust with care that recognises the path to healing is deeply personal. For those seeking a Christian psychologist, I also offer faith-informed support that thoughtfully integrates psychological insight and spiritual values.
I work with a broad range of concerns, including:
-
Anxiety, depression, OCD, panic disorder, and trauma
-
Adjustment difficulties, grief, burnout, and work stress
-
Relationship challenges, conflict resolution, and recovery from abusive relationships
-
Workplace difficulties, including bullying and career direction
-
Perinatal adjustment and early parenthood challenges
As a trained Gottman Couples Therapist, I also provide relationship therapy, with the option of integrating faith perspectives for those who desire Christian marriage counselling.
In addition to my work with individuals, I am dedicated to promoting safety and wellbeing within church environments through policy development, training, and support. I also have a keen interest in perinatal health, drawing on my professional and volunteer experience supporting mothers and families through adjustment, mental health challenges, or birth trauma.
Outside of clinical practice, I work as a sessional academic at the University of Southern Queensland, supporting students in Guidance and Counselling. My recent research has focused on adult attachment, coercive control, shame, and emotion dysregulation in intimate relationships.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, exploring photography, and catching up with friends over coffee.
