Working with men who have used violence: a developing field

Men who have used violence in intimate partner and family relationships often have unaddressed histories of maltreatment as children. It is not always safe to include male perpetrators of violence in family interventions. However, in the absence of systematic coercive control, and where conditional safety can be established there is a growing call for services to offer interventions to these men, with the aim of keeping families together. In this presentation Jackie will selectively review the existing literature, and discuss an emerging approach to intervention, using an illustrative case study.
