M. Couns., BASc

Walking alongside people and offering a place to talk through distressing feelings, thoughts or circumstances is Jillian's emphasis.  There may be things you want to say but don't yet have a safe place to share. Sessions are shaped around each person's needs and preferences.

Growth and healing have been experienced by Jillian in the counselling room, and she knows what it feels like to sit with a counsellor in an unfamiliar place.  Helping people develop clarity and their sense of wellbeing is important.  Jillian draws on experiential ways and somatic awareness to help address an individual's needs within a therapeutic environment. Trauma informed and recovery-oriented care underpin this approach, as each person's story is important and each person is unique.

Recent roles include working with women in crisis, and creative therapy work with people from Culturally and Racially Marginalised backgrounds. This has helped Jillian value the importance of creativity, courage and connectedness in people's lives. Previously, as an information professional, Jillian worked for many years to resource children, adolescents, parents, carers and professionals within healthcare settings.
