John is a qualified counsellor with a Master of Counselling degree and over 40 years’ experience working with people from all walks of life. His background spans social welfare, education, and counselling — supporting young people and families, teaching in schools, and serving as Head of Student Welfare in private settings.
John believes there are as many therapies as there are clients. He tailors his approach to each person, drawing on methods like Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, ACT, DBT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy to best support their needs.
He works with individuals, couples, and groups, and has particular experience helping people manage compulsive or addictive behaviours and the impact these have on their lives and relationships. John also brings a creative perspective from his years as a writer and musician, which shapes his warm and engaging style.
As a certified Prepare and Enrich facilitator, John also supports engaged and married couples in building stronger, more connected relationships.
John sees clients at Kings Langley, Rooty Hill, and online.
