Hi, my name is Murray. I'm an Addiction Specialist, who offers Specialised Counselling, General Counselling, Relationship Counselling, Christian Counselling and Individual Professional Supervision. With an extensive background in addictions, my knowledge of the topic reaches beyond the norm having lived my own personal experience seeking help and residential rehabilitation for a drug and alcohol addiction and deteriorating mental health as a young adult. I have over ten years' professional experience in the Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) sector, and eight years professional experience as a counsellor, including six years living and working in a residential drug & alcohol rehabilitation centre. I am also a Pastoral Counsellor and Chaplain.
My passion is to help individuals and their families connect through the crisis of addiction and recovery. I also offer relationship counselling and generalised individual counselling dealing with issues including mental health, grief & loss, life transitions, men's issues, work & relational stress and family therapy.
As a Christian, I understand the importance of incorporating faith into the therapeutic process. I offer Christian Counselling services that integrate Biblical principles and values with professional counselling techniques. My aim is to provide a safe space where individuals and couples can explore their concerns, find healing, and grow spiritually.
My counselling services are designed to address a range of personal, relational, and spiritual issues. I integrate Biblical and faith-based perspectives into the therapeutic process. I work mainly as a person-centred counsellor but integrate other approaches when appropriate and helpful. I seek to establish a safe therapeutic relationship in order to help resolve whatever troubles you, and work toward finding a better way forward in your life.
