Master in Counselling Practice

Valda’s first aim is to create a safe environment for clients to talk, and for them to feel they are being heard and understood.

Having had experience as a critical care nurse, and active engagement in cultural and faith communities, marriage, parenting, and caring for elderly parents, Valda recognises the value of receiving support and the availability of a listening ear. She integrates various therapies into collaborative individual and couples counselling sessions, with roots in biblical principles.

Valda desires to affirm and assist you to overcome difficulties that lifes circumstances present, and to empower you to be able to see with clarity what needs to be seen and understood, in order to live out an empowered life. She believes that circumstances can’t always be changed, but the cyclic storm of thoughts and feelings can be addressed to improve quality of living.

Valda’s areas of interest include Relationship Counselling (+marriage), Anxiety and Stress Management, Grief and Loss (including pregnancy loss and termination), and Trauma Care. She is registered with PACFA and CCAA.
