Master Of Counselling, Gottman Therapy Levels 1 and 2

I believe humans can self-actualise when they are provided the appropriate support and space for safety and connection. I meet and sit with my clients with deep empathy and a non-judgmental approach to explore their feelings and experiences and help them be their authentic selves through the growth and healing process in counselling. As a Counsellor, I firmly believe that there is nothing to fix in individuals; they need someone to help them explore and journey with them, making choices that are authentic to who they are. My practice is based on the Person-Centred approach, Somatic work, Trauma-informed care, Polyvagal theory and Neuroscience, and I integrate other approaches and modalities based on my client's needs, including spirituality upon request.

Coming from an Asian background, I place significant value on cultural diversity in my practice. Likewise, I have over a decade of educational experience, which assists me in working with young people, including my years of Pastoral Care work engaging with people across the lifespan.

I am a lifelong learner, taking every opportunity to learn from people, including therapeutic conversations with my clients, which I deeply value. I love attending regular Professional Development workshops to expand my knowledge and align my practice with research-based methods and therapeutic techniques. I also participate in group and personal clinical supervision, including personal counselling, which makes me more human, just like anyone else.

My practice is governed by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and the Christian Counsellors Association in Australia (CCAA). I am also a member of the International Association of Applied Neuroscience (IAAN). I am trained at Levels 1 and 2 at The Gottman Institute as a couples therapist and have completed The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, which has led to my becoming a Gottman Leader, through which I can hold seminar-workshops for couples. I also innovate by allowing my clients to meet outside the counselling room. I do sessions in English and Filipino, teleconsultation or in person.

I look forward to an opportunity to meet you with outstretched arms.
