Julie Gillin is a speech pathologist with many years experience working in the field. Julie has three children, with her son developing a drug problem in his teen years. There followed very difficult years as Julie and her family struggled to understand his problem and how best to help him. Julie has had contact with a range of agencies including the justice system in her efforts to support her son. During the journey Julie joined the Family Drug Support Group, which she found extremely helpful. She eventually trained as a volunteer on the agency’s phone line and facilitator. Julie has had many different experiences as she as journeyed with her son and her family. Julie is a Christian and with God’s grace she has been able to grow in her understanding of addiction and how to cope.
