IFO Counsellors provide onsite mental health crisis care and coordination, individual counselling, referrals to support services, assistance to middle management who may be supervising staff in circumstances of mental health concern, and insight to senior management regarding general employee wellbeing.
This is completed through building onsite rapport across all levels of the site, providing toolbox and prestart presentations, providing individual counselling and support to employees and their family, and liaising with supervisors, middle managers and senior managers.
To clarify this is a FIFO position resident to a mine site. Working swings may be 4 days on and 3 days off, or 8 days on 6 days off – depending on the mine site requirements. The model is similar to chaplaincy with the added counselling capability. Pay starts at $137k to $162k per annum (on a weekly 4:3 roster or 8:6 fortnight roster).
