Monika is a psychologist in private practice with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, young people and families. Monika is particularly interested in applied neuroscience, specialising in trauma, and in couple’s therapy. She loves working with people in remote areas who sometimes have limited access to resources.
Monika uses approaches from a wide range of therapeutic areas such as cognitive behaviour therapy, transactional analysis, trauma therapy (EMDR), and couples therapy (Gottmann & PACT), to assist clients in initiating change and effectively dealing with challenges. Monika has a nursing background and a Master of Theology which she aims to combine to deliver effective client focused interventions.
Monika has taught for a number of years the Graduate Certificate of Neuropsychotherapy at Christian Heritage College in Brisbane and conducted workshops nationally and internationally on integrating neuroscience principals with day-to-day functioning. She is a Board Approved Supervisor with the APS and one of the directors on the IAAN Board. She is an active member of her local Baptist Church.
