Dr Katie Kjelsaas explores, through brief review of theory, research and a real case example, the possibility of using clients’ personal religious faith as part of an attachment-oriented individual therapy process.

One possible framework for integrating religious faith using Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) is provided, including specific examples from a case in which the client’s faith played a key role in their healing process.

Participants will be provided with relevant background on attachment theory, an overview of the EFIT model for use in such cases and an opportunity to observe and participate in experiential learning to practice the interventions taught.
