With Dr Kathryn Kinmond a Senior Lecturer at Manchester University and Professor Lisa Oakley a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Chester

There is a growing awareness of the importance of understanding spiritual abuse and the need for training in this area. These three workshops have been developed from research and practice experience in this area. They will be delivered in an interactive format and cover the following areas:

1. An understanding of what spiritual abuse is and the key characteristics in the Christian faith context
2. Develop an awareness of the impact of spiritual abuse
3. Learn from victim-survivors testimonies about responding well to disclosures of spiritual abuse
4. Develop an awareness of how to work with spiritual abuse in the therapy room
5. Understand how to operate self-care as a therapist working in this area.

This research-based and practice-relevant series is presented in three two hour workshops a fortnight apart. Each interactive workshop builds on the previous session.
