Dr Jackie Amos is a clinical academic, child and adolescent psychiatrist and specialist therapist with more than twenty years’ experience working with children and families facing intergenerational trauma.
Jackie’s internationally recognised research integrating the trauma and attachment literatures, forms the foundation of Centacare’s evidence-based, trauma-responsive therapeutic framework. The purpose of the framework is to embed strength-based and trauma-responsive therapeutic interventions into existing social casework.
Centacare have developed comprehensive training which includes eight engaging, interactive, and self-paced online learning modules, supplemented by experiential workshops and reflective supervision. The training explains how early life experiences and exposure to trauma can affect how people see themselves, manage emotions, and relate to others as adults. Her work provides a compassionate understanding of how trauma can disrupt an individual’s capacity for respectful relationships, opening new pathways for change
