Dr Lisa Champion is a counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice in Pyrmont, NSW, where she works with individuals and couples using emotion-focused, somatic, and phenomenological approaches. Her professional journey began in exercise science and rehabilitation, through which she came to recognise the deep connection between physical and emotional experience — a realisation that drew her into psychotherapy. Now with more than thirteen years in private practice, Lisa also offers clinical supervision for therapists and counsellors. A long-standing member of the Christian Counsellors Association of Australia, she brings a thoughtful, personally integrated faith perspective to her work and to her ongoing reflection on therapeutic practice. She recently completed her PhD in Psychotherapy, which explored the lived experiences of seasoned psychotherapists and gave rise to her framework for understanding the phenomenon of the self-appearing in therapeutic work.
