Join Julie Nixon CCAA Ethics Chair as she discusses common issues that repeatedly demand her attention.
There seems to be a rising wave of counsellors who are finding themselves in trouble as evidenced by both PACFA and CCAA ethics departments. No counsellor consciously does harm to their clients but it’s often well-meaning but misinformed counsellors who inadvertently do harm.
In this 3 hour professional development we will talk about:
- Subpoenas
- Notes
- Requests for letters
- Boundaries – crossings and blurred
- Privacy
- Working outside of competence and training
- Bracketing personal values
- Legislation-what I can’t do
There will be time in this PD to ask questions and discuss difficult scenarios.
