PD Information
A substantial amount of what is communicated in personal relationships is implied rather than explicitly stated. This workshop draws upon theories in linguistics to provide a framework for looking for, identifying, and understanding the meaning and significances of these inferences.
This will equip you to identify and respond in your reflections and active listening not only to what is said, but what is implied. It will also enable you to identify the inferences the recipients of the communication make that lie behind their emotional reactions to what may be small issues of “insignificant” comments. If you want to come across as a really insightful discerning therapist, this PD is for you.
