Event Details
This event is held Online – 4 hours of professional development (category A)
*This event will be recorded*
This workshop will cover neuroscience as it applies to the counselling and therapeutic relationship, as well as to specific presentations such as depression, anxiety, and trauma.
As therapists, we have great responsibilities, but also opportunities to meet, understand, and connect with our clients and to be specific with our interventions. To be effective we need to not only understand the history, but also to understand what is happening in the moment for our client and engage them with respect, wisdom and warmth.
Neuroscience can guide our approach in an informed way, and besides being helpful can also help us to self-regulate effectively in the face of our own reactions to what clients present.
This workshop will provide a practice component through case discussions and practical exercises in breakout rooms as well as a question time at the end.
