This event is held Face to Face and Online – 2 hours of professional development (category A)
*This event will be recorded*
How do we support young people’s mental health when screens, social media, gaming and online pressures are part of everyday life?
This PD offers a balanced, practical and evidence-informed look at child and adolescent wellbeing in the digital age. Rather than framing screens as simply “good” or “bad,” the session explores the nuanced ways digital media can affect young people’s brains, emotions, relationships, sleep, resilience and sense of self.
Counsellors will be invited to think about the whole child: their developmental stage, offline vulnerabilities, family context, relationships and coping strategies. The session will provide practical tools to support emotional regulation, increase resilience, and encourage mindful engagement both offline and online.
